Primary Responsibilities
Your core focus will be providing high-quality diagnostic services while shaping the next generation of veterinary professionals.
- Necropsy Service (32 weeks): 16 weeks of active necropsy floor service, and 16 weeks of dedicated readout and report finalization.
- Biopsy Service: 4 weeks of surgical pathology/biopsy service annually.
- Clinical Instruction: Provide hands-on training to 4th-year veterinary students during their necropsy rotations.
- Mentorship: Actively mentor pathology residents during their service rotations, fostering their diagnostic and professional growth.
- Academic Contribution: Prepare and deliver 1–2 gross image rounds and histopathology conferences per year for the department.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following professional standards:
- Certification: Board certified or board eligible by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) or the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP).
- Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in anatomic pathology and a strong commitment to educational excellence.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively teach and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Optional activities include didactic and selectives teaching in the veterinary curriculum, and serving on resident mentoring committees.
