BHJ USA, LLC. is a leading supplier of fresh/frozen meat blends to both the wet and dry pet food industries. We are seeking a motivated, self starter to formulates and drive a consistent approach towards sourcing, purchasing and tendering activity within the business, ultimately ensuring that value for money is maximized and cost savings are generated by performing the following duties:

Manages import business – sourcing, purchasing, sales and overall supply chain management.
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, suppliers, and Company plants by traveling to their sites or participating in trade shows.
Performs business development within assigned business area
Represent company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
Key account management tasks as needed for specific customers, species or segment.
Collaborate with Logistics/Sales Support team to ensure appropriate logistic management, including port issues, external cold storage agreements and transportation.
Collaborate with billing and transportation to ensure correct invoicing, price checks, and inventory valuations.
Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure proper formulations, pricing structure, and that we are meeting customer product specifications.
Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. 
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Adhere to attendance guidelines of the company at assigned work location


Required Knowledge:

Ability to build strong customer and supplier relationships
Service oriented
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, especially Excel) 
Analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent negotiating skills
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.  
Ability to work as a part of a team and treat coworkers with respect
Education/Industry Knowledge:

Bachelor’s degree along with (3-5) years experience or equivalent education and/or experience is required

Understanding of import business, specifically with import of meat and/or fish - preferably for use in pet food
International experience and interest in working with colleagues in different countries
Solid business knowledge and understanding of contract negotiations
