What You’ll Do
You’ll practice a dynamic mix of:
Community Medicine
- Provide compassionate, equity-focused accessible care that meets families where they are
- Support pet retention and keep animals with the people who love them
- Deliver common-sense, incremental care for a wide range of patients and conditions – from wellness and preventative care to sick visits, chronic disease management, and palliative end-of-life care
Surgery
- Perform high-volume, High-quality spay/neuter
- Provide elective surgery and safety-net emergency surgery
- Oversee and perform sedated procedures and dentistry
Shelter Medicine
- Apply population health and flow-through decision-making
- Rotate through daily medical rounds and treatments, collaborating across departments and with partner shelters
You’ll work alongside a deeply skilled team of DVMs, RVTs, and animal care professionals who practice at the top of their license and training. You will help launch the expansion of our medical clinic to 7-day-a-week services , integrating clinical excellence with access, compassion, and smart resource use.

Qualifications
- DVM/VMD + California veterinary license
- Proficient surgical skills and HVHQSN Techinques
- At least 1 year experience in shelter and/or community medicine
- Strong communicator who understands systems
- Curiosity, adaptability, and shared-leadership mindset
- Spanish language skills appreciated (not required)
Compensation & Work-Life
- $145,000–$165,000 DOE annually for full-time (40 hours/week)
- We are open to flexible or part-time schedules, with salary prorated based on weekly hours and scope of responsibility

- Continued Education stipend + Continued Education days
- License reimbursement
- Relocation assistance considered
