Description
Certified Veterinary Technician - Internal MedicineEastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center (EPVMC)
EPVMC was founded on the belief that pets of the Lehigh Valley deserve access to advanced veterinary care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What started as a commitment to emergency medicine has grown into a collaborative specialty hospital where doctors, technicians, assistants, and client care teams work together to support patients with complex medical needs.
Our mission is clear. Provide exceptional medicine around the clock. Treat every patient with compassion. Work together as a team that respects skill, curiosity, and dedication to the profession.
Those values guide everything we do.
Inside our Internal Medicine department, that mission comes to life every day.
Internal Medicine patients often arrive with unanswered questions. Chronic illness. Complicated diagnoses. Conditions that require careful investigation, advanced diagnostics, and thoughtful long-term management. The work is challenging, technical, and deeply rewarding.
This is where our Certified Veterinary Technicians make a profound difference.
On any given day, you might be preparing a patient for an abdominal ultrasound, placing IV catheters for a patient receiving immunosuppressive therapy, or monitoring a patient undergoing an endoscopic biopsy procedure. You may be running advanced diagnostics like CT or endoscope, collecting samples for specialized laboratory testing, or carefully explaining medication protocols to a concerned pet owner.
The Internal Medicine service relies heavily on technicians who are skilled, curious, and detail oriented. These cases require critical thinking, excellent nursing care, and a commitment to understanding the "why" behind every treatment plan.
At EPVMC, we view technicians as nurses and medical professionals whose knowledge strengthens the entire medical team.
