Mendon Animal Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Credentialed Veterinary Technician to our team.Mendon Animal Clinic is a full-service animal hospital that welcomes both emergency treatment cases as well as pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical and dental care. We care for cats, dogs, rabbits and pocket pets. Our clinic is well equipped with ultrasound, digital radiology including dental, full in-house laboratory, surgical cautery, therapeutic laser, cryotherapy, tonometry. We have a board certified surgeon, cardiologist and internist who regularly come to our practice for advanced surgical procedures, echocardiology and abdominal ultrasounds. https://www.mendonanimalclinic.com/

Credentialed Veterinary Technician
Salary :starting at $22/hr an hour (based on experience)
Sign-on Bonus : $2,000 (full time employment)
Required schedule:
- Tues, Wed required; other 2 days can be discussed
- One Saturday required a month.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Administer medications (PO, IM, SQ, IV, SL) and perform treatment orders
- Perform blood draws, urinalysis (voided, expressed, cystocentesis), and diagnostic testing (CBC, chemistry panels, radiographs)
- Accurately calculate dosages and create medication schedules based on DVM order
- Provides compassionate care to patients and clients
- Provide compassionate, clear communication with clients regarding procedures, home care, and follow-up
- Prepare treatment estimates and review financial expectations with clients
- Build long-term relationships with pet owners through excellent service and trust
- Assist in outpatient procedures, wellness appointments and general patient care
- Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms, surgical suites, and patient areas
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, cage cleaning, etc.)
- Practice low-stress animal handling and restraint

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Veterinary certification or licensure in the state of Massachusetts, or eligible to attain required
- Prior anesthesia and surgery experience is a must!
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day
- Exceptional time management, communication, and team collaboration skills
- Familiarity with veterinary software systems & willingness to learn new technology
