Description
Job Title: Licensed Veterinary Technician (a.k.a. Small-Town Animal Hero)Location: A cozy corner of the world where everyone knows your name-and your favorite patients
Compensation: starting at $24/hour depending on experience
About Us
We're a small-town veterinary clinic where the coffee is always brewing, the clients greet you by name, and half your patients have been coming here since they were kittens (and now they have kittens of their own). We believe in compassionate care, strong community ties, and celebrating the little wins-like a stress-free nail trim or a tail wag from a once-nervous pup.
If you love meaningful connections, slower-paced charm (with just enough surprise chaos), and being part of a tight-knit team, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Do
- Assist the veterinarian with exams, surgeries, and everything in between
- Provide gentle, hands-on care to patients who may know you better than their own mail carrier
- Administer medications, vaccines, and plenty of reassurance
- Collect samples (yes, even the glamorous ones)
- Monitor anesthesia and recovery like the calm, capable pro you are
- Take radiographs while keeping things low-stress for both pets and people
- Keep accurate medical records (because in a small town, continuity is everything)
- Build lasting relationships with clients-you'll watch pets grow up, grow old, and everything in between
- Offer guidance and education with warmth, patience, and zero judgment
What You Bring
- A current Licensed Veterinary Technician credential
- A genuine love for animals and the people who love them
- A friendly, approachable personality-bonus if you don't mind chatting about local happenings between appointments
- Strong multitasking skills (you can juggle, but in a calm, reassuring way)
- Emotional intelligence and compassion-you'll be there for both happy visits and hard goodbyes
- A sense of humor and a kind heart
Bonus Points If You
- Remember patients' names and their humans' names (you'll be a local legend)
- Can calm a nervous pet with just your voice and a well-timed treat
- Are skilled in the fine art of cat wrangling without taking it personally
Perks & Benefits
- Competitive pay with a schedule that respects work-life balance
- A supportive, close-knit team that has your back (and shares snacks)
- Opportunities for continuing education
- The joy of truly getting to know your patients and their families
- A workplace where you're not just a number-you're the go-to person
A Day in the Life
Your day might start with a familiar tail wag and end with a heartfelt thank-you from a longtime client. You'll laugh, problem-solve, lend a hand wherever needed, and occasionally pause to appreciate the simple, meaningful moments that make small-town practice so special.
If you're looking for a place where your work matters, and your patients feel like family-apply today.
