Westford Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center is seeking an experienced Full Time Veterinary Criticalist to join our 24/7 emergency and referral hospital in Westford, MA. Position Highlights
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week with heavy 8a-8p inpatient and occasional 8a-8p, 10a-10p and 12p-12a receiving, and rare overnights to support the schedule No on-call duties
Responsibilities include:
- Provide advanced medical management of critically ill and injured patients.
- Develop and oversee ICU services, workflows, and standards of care.
- Serve as a consultant and clinical leader for the ER and specialty teams.
- Establish evidence-based ICU protocols and quality assurance measures.
- Lead and support ICU staff training, mentorship, and team development.
- Guide equipment selection and implementation of advanced critical care technologies.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership on service growth, staffing, and strategic planning.
- Deliver compassionate, clear communication with clients during complex and high-acuity cases.
- This role combines hands-on critical care with program development and leadership in a collaborative, high-volume specialty environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $225,000 - $260,000 (based on experience)
- $50,000 sign-on bonus

Requirements
DVM or equivalent
Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care
