Description
Adobe Animal Hospital is actively looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our amazing team. We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and service-oriented Licensed Veterinary Technician who is confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood, and running bloodwork, has experience with x-rays and proper positioning, understands the importance of client education, and is a supportive and positive team player. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and growing, and Adobe Animal Hospital encourages its staff to do the same. Schedule: Part-time and Full-time opportunities available. Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 6 pm, Opening on Saturdays soon! Closed on Sunday and major holidays.
Location: 3140 Trawood Dr, El Paso, TX 79936
Who You Are:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Texas, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
- 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Exam room skills include obtaining accurate histories, obtaining vitals, brief exams, client education and financial conversations
- Dental Experience, including charting, scaling, polishing, dental radiology
- Skilled in IV Catheter placement, venipuncture, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
- Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique, pre-operative and post-operative care
- Laboratory skills including in-house lab equipment, ear and skin cytology set-up and interpretation
- Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- And all other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
