National Account Manager Pet Care - Phileo

Basic Function: As an Account Manager for the Pet Care segment of Phileo by Lesaffre, you will be tasked with the development, growth, and promotion of the product portfolio of Phileo and Gnosis.  Through strategic planning, technical knowledge of the pet feed and nutrition marketing, and quality customer service, you will contribute to customer satisfaction and help them address the health and wellness challenges faced by their consumers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage the sales budget for pet food and pet care business.
  • Strategize how to approach the North American pet feed and nutrition market; identify leads and pursue sales to grow our footprint in the pet food and care market.
  • Transition leads to customers through quality service and salesmanship; maintain accounts and
  • Build relationships with key consultants, end users, distributors, and strategic feed and premix companies in North America.
  • Monitor and evaluate the actions/movements of competitors within North America.
  • Attend industry shows, conferences, and visit potential customers to remain current on industry trends, consumer needs, and represent Phileo by Lesaffre.
  • Utilize technical and market knowledge to guide creation of appropriate marketing and informational materials for the North American Market.

Qualifications:

  • Business to business sales experience preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in sales preferred
  • Technical knowledge and experience in pet feed and nutrition required
  • Knowledge or interest in learning about equine feed and nutrition preferred

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent Microsoft Office skills and have the ability to conduct web conference meetings and attend virtual meetings along with industry and company updates.

 Physical Demands

Prolonged sitting and standing, some bending, stooping, stretching and climbing (ladders or steps). Occasional heavy lifting of up to 55 pounds. Must possess physical tolerance for common feed ingredients. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary for making small measurements. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard feed manufacturing equipment, various laboratory equipment, and a motor vehicle. Requires eyesight within normal range (or correctable with lenses) to visually determine research experiment effects, read reports and computer terminals. Requires hearing within normal range for telephone service responsibilities. Must be able to verbally explain and demonstrate products.

 Work Environment

Intermittent exposure to noise, odors and temperature extremes during travel and in feed manufacturing and livestock production facilities. Occasional exposure to dust and heights of 10 feet or more. Potential injuries may occur during improper operation of equipment or improper lifting and handling of product, equipment, and supplies. Considerable danger if exposed to moving mechanical parts, power sources or specific chemicals used in production processes. Certain personnel protection measures must be taken to protect against hazards in feed plant/livestock operations.
