Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for generating and increasing revenue for WATT’s Petfood brand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates programs/proposals to sell digital/magazine advertising and exhibitor solutions to B2B clients.
- Develops sales strategy for all accounts utilizing Sales Enablement sales process, including pipeline management with specific value messaging to increase sales revenues.
- Meets bi-weekly to review/revise individual annual revenue goals against forecast for print, digital/online, event sponsorship/live event booth space, special projects, and all other related products.
- Maintains complete and accurate information in Naviga which provides sales, pipeline projections, and information about accounts such as call reports, contact reports and client communications.
- Develops monthly call plans, opportunity reviews and account reviews.
- Maintains and updates marketing lists, sales aids, market and media information, to make effective use during sales dialog with clients and prospects.
- Prospects consistently to build an actionable pipeline by analyzing competitive magazines, attending industry trade shows and meetings, and accessing online tracking tools like MediaRadar and other lead generation tools.
- Provides the National Sales Director with ideas and competitive data on market and advertiser conditions as requested in connection with publication planning, sales strategy, sales presentations, and account base strategy.
- Prepares travel plans and maintains travel expenses within budget.
- Supports Accounting/Accounts Receivable department with credit and collection efforts.
- Works with Editors to provide editorial support (product/press releases, Processing/Solutions articles) for clients and to convey any editorial opportunities that may be appropriate.
- Collaborates with other departments to help achieve the overall company strategic initiatives.
- Develops relationships with industry, trade, and professional groups as necessary in order fulfill company objectives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts Degree with emphasis in Business, Marketing, or Advertising.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
Minimum five years direct sales experience – Marketing/Advertising/Communications with direct experience and knowledge of digital products and terminology, live event booth and sponsorship sales and magazine ad sales.
Proven record of account development and revenue goal attainment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams. Should have experience in participating in meetings via Zoom, Microsoft Teams Meetings, Go-to-Meeting, and other online meeting platforms. Will be expected to successfully work with the company’s CRM system (Naviga), and company project management, HR and communication platforms including Trello, Viva Engage, BambooHR, Expensify, and other programs that support the Petfood Forum Events (A2Z and Swoogo) as needed.
