Description
Vet-Owned. People-First.
At AcutePet Urgent Care, we’re rethinking what urgent care can look like - for pets and for the people providing it.
We’re a vet-owned, people-first organization built on a simple idea: great medicine only happens when the team behind it is supported, trusted, and set up to thrive.
We’ve recently expanded to Voorhees, NJ, where we’re already seeing strong demand from the community. Our hospitals deliver emergency-level care in an urgent care setting - with a pace and schedule designed to support both excellent medicine and a sustainable way to practice.
We’re open 10am–10pm, seven days a week - no overnights, no major holidays.
Why Voorhees?
Voorhees offers the best of both worlds - easy access to Philadelphia with a more livable, community-focused feel. It’s a great place to build both a career and a life, with strong local neighborhoods, great schools, and plenty to do outside of work.
Whether you’re looking to stay close to the city or want a bit more space without sacrificing opportunity, Voorhees makes it easy to do both.
Why This Role is Different
This role tends to click for:
ER veterinarians ready to step away from overnights and constant high-acuity pressure
Experienced GPs who want to expand their skillset and work up more urgent cases
Newer veterinarians looking for hands-on experience, strong mentorship, and real growth - without being thrown into the deep end
If you’re looking for more autonomy, more support, or just a better way to do the work you love - you’ll find it here.
What You’ll See Here
We focus on urgent, same-day cases that need attention - but not hospitalization:
- Lacerations and minor trauma
- Vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration
- Toxin ingestions
- Acute pain or illness requiring diagnostics and stabilization
You’ll have the tools, support, and clinical backing to work these cases up confidently - and the ability to send patients back to their primary vet for follow-up.
How We’re Built
AcutePet was founded and is led by veterinarians who understand the reality of clinical practice.
- Led by a board-certified criticalist as our Chief Medical Officer
- Supported by experienced Managing DVMs and Practice Managers
- Structured to deliver high-quality care without burnout being the cost of entry
We’ve built this model intentionally - so teams can practice confidently, collaborate easily, and go home at the end of the day still liking their job (and themselves).

That looks like:

- Excellent communication with clients and medical support teams
