Description
NOW HIRING: ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN — Cuddle Paws Veterinary, Culver City, California.
Build Something Different (Seriously, We Mean It). Cuddle Paws Veterinary is a modern hospital opening in Culver City—and we’re building it with intention. Our philosophy is simple: Great medicine. Happy team. No burnout. Yes, we know everyone says that. We’re actually designing a place where that’s realistic.
What You'll Be Doing We’re looking for a compassionate, thoughtful Associate Veterinarian who enjoys practicing good medicine without unnecessary chaos. Your day-to-day will include wellness visits, surgery (spays, neuters, dentals, mass removals), fully triaged urgent care (not “everything is urgent” urgent care), and collaborating with a team that genuinely likes working together. You’ll also have a Goodwill Fund—because sometimes helping the client is the right medicine. And since we’re a new hospital, you’ll have a voice in how things are done (yes, your ideas actually matter here).
Compensation (The Important Part) includes $140,000–$170,000 base salary, production bonus (18–22%), after-hours compensation (hard work deserves to be recognized), relocation support if needed, and paid bi-weekly. We’re flexible—tell us what matters to you, and we’ll do our best to meet you there.
Work-life balance (not just a buzzword): 3–4 days per week, flexible scheduling, minimal or no weekends—your call, and 20–30 minute appointments. Our goal: you leave on time, eat dinner at a normal hour, and have a life outside of work.
Benefits include PTO 10–14 days (and yes, we actually want you to use it), paid holidays, CE allowance $2,500 plus CE days, license/DEA/liability covered, health insurance (or stipend option), employee pet discounts (your pets will love you more), and 4 sets of scrubs provided (laundry still your responsibility, sorry).
Why Cuddle Paws feels different: no quotas, no weird pressure, no “sell this today” energy; supportive, low-drama team (we protect this culture heavily); you focus on being a doctor—we have support for workflow and flow management; AI-integrated tools to make your life easier (not more complicated); medicine designed so clients understand you—not argue with you; strong encouragement of pet insurance for better medicine and fewer limitations; when you’re off… you’re actually off.
Who you are DVM (licensed or eligible in California), a clear communicator who genuinely cares, into quality medicine without cutting corners, collaborative, open-minded, and respectful, comfortable with modern tools (or at least willing to try them), emotionally intelligent (you can read a room—and a client), reliable, proactive, and grounded. New grads welcome—we’re happy to mentor the right person.
Our mission to care for pets and their humans with equal heart—guided by clarity, compassion, and connection.
Our vision: to raise the standard of veterinary medicine through transparency, trust, and genuinely better experiences.
Our values: Compassion Clarity Coherence.
Team standards professional, collaborative, solution-oriented, forward-thinking, kind (non-negotiable).
If this resonates with you, give us a try—we want to know if we are also a good fit for you and your professional goals.
Send your resume and a short introduction. Come as you are—we’re excited to get to know you, authentically and without filters.
