Job Description
Introduction
Winters Chapel Animal Hospital is a privately owned hospital that primarily treats cats and dogs. The team is open and supportive of veterinarians with interests in less common species, such as avian medicine. They are currently seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join their growing team as the third doctor in the practice.
Working Hours / Rota
We are looking for a full time associate veterinarian. For full-time doctors, the schedule runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with Saturday shifts on rotation, 9am-1pm.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian's day typically includes a mix of surgeries (if applicable) and 30-minute appointments. Clinical responsibilities span general practice services such as surgery, dentistry, dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, nutrition, behaviour, allergy management, and diagnostics. This position is available to experienced veterinarians only. Surgery is negotiable.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with x-ray, in-house blood machines, in-house urinalysis, a wet table, a dedicated surgery room, anaesthesia and oxygen equipment, and paperless medical records. They also partner with a travelling ultrasonographer, eliminating the need for in-house ultrasound. Although we do have a handheld ultrasound for quick scans. As an independent practice, they offer personalized support and flexible career development paths, actively encouraging doctors to introduce new ideas and areas of interest.
Team
The practice currently has two doctors, with this position expanding the team to three. They are supported by a capable team of support staff, and the environment is collaborative and adaptable, with a strong focus on supporting individual professional goals.
