- Clinical Operations Lead / Senior Veterinary Technician
Description
PRISM Integrative Veterinary Health is seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Technician with strong leadership and operational skills to join our growing integrative veterinary practice.
This is a unique hybrid position for someone who loves veterinary medicine but is also ready to take meaningful ownership of how a practice operates.
Approximately 60% of the role will remain hands-on and clinical, with approximately 40% dedicated to team leadership and practice operations. Responsibilities will be integrated throughout a five-day workweek rather than divided into strictly clinical and administrative days.
We are looking for someone who doesn't simply wait to be told what needs to be done.
The right person notices problems, asks good questions, develops solutions, follows through, and enjoys making a practice simpler, more efficient, more organized, and less dependent on its owner for day-to-day decisions.
What You'll Own
Team Leadership & Accountability
You will serve as the day-to-day operational leader for our support team, including:
- Staff scheduling and coverage
- Onboarding and training
- Performance feedback and reviews
- Employee accountability and follow-through
- Routine employee concerns and conflict resolution
- Team meetings and communication
- Recruiting and interviewing
- Supporting a positive, accountable workplace culture
You should be comfortable having both supportive and difficult conversations and following through when expectations are not being met.
Clinical Operations
As a Senior Veterinary Technician, you will remain actively involved in patient care while helping ensure our clinical team operates effectively.
Responsibilities include:
- Hands-on senior veterinary technician responsibilities
- Technician and assistant workflow
- Training and development of clinical support staff
- Appropriate delegation and team utilization
- Clinical efficiency and organization
- Equipment and treatment-area readiness
- Implementation of clinical workflows and established SOPs
- Identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks
Practice Operations
You will take increasing ownership of PRISM's day-to-day operations, including:
- Identifying and resolving workflow problems
- Improving operational systems
- Maintaining appropriate policies and SOPs
- Supporting inventory and COGS performance
- Monitoring staffing and operational efficiency
- Helping optimize appointment capacity and doctor utilization
- Coordinating operational implementation of new initiatives
- Monitoring key operational performance indicators
- Bringing solutions and recommendations forward rather than waiting for problems to be solved for you
Our goal is growth through simplification and organized scaling—not growth through unnecessary complexity.
We want someone who makes the practice easier to operate as it grows.
Working With Our Doctors
Our Medical Director retains responsibility for medical standards, clinical decision-making, medical protocols, and professional medical oversight.
The Clinical Operations Lead is responsible for the operational environment in which our doctors practice, including scheduling, workflow, support-team allocation, operational expectations, efficiency, and implementation of established practice policies.
Previous experience successfully providing operational leadership to veterinarians or other professional clinical staff is a strong plus.
Schedule
This is a full-time, five-day-per-week salaried position.
The role will initially average approximately 60% clinical work and 40% operational leadership, although responsibilities will flex throughout the week based on practice needs.
Some schedule flexibility is important as the practice evolves, including the possibility of future Saturday coverage.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $70,000–$80,000, based on veterinary experience, technical proficiency, leadership experience, and demonstrated ability to independently own practice operations.
Performance-based bonus opportunities may also be available based on achievement of defined practice and operational goals.
Benefits for eligible employees include:
- 50% employer-paid health insurance
- 50% employer-paid dental insurance
- 50% employer-paid vision insurance
- Retirement contribution/match
- Paid time off
- Employee discounts
- Continuing education support

We are building the next stage of PRISM around sustainable growth, simplification, strong accountability, and exceptional patient and client care.
We are looking for someone who wants to help build that future—not by making the practice more complicated, but by helping it run exceptionally well.
Application Process
We are intentionally seeking someone interested in becoming a long-term and integral part of PRISM. Our interview process is designed to ensure the right fit for both the candidate and our team and will include a written response, phone interview, and in-person shadowing experience.
Interested applicants must submit their application along with a mandatory cover letter to manager@prismvethealth.com.
In your cover letter, please tell us:
- Why this particular combination of veterinary medicine, leadership, and practice operations interests you
- Your previous experience supervising or leading veterinary team members and, if applicable, veterinarians

What Success Looks Like
Over time, the person in this role becomes the first point of contact for routine operational and team matters.
You'll understand what's happening across the practice, identify problems before they become larger issues, develop solutions, support and hold the team accountable, and help create an environment where doctors can focus on medicine and the owner can focus on medical leadership and business strategy.
Success in this role means helping PRISM grow revenue and capacity while becoming simpler, more organized, and less dependent on owner involvement.
We are looking for someone who wants to be able to say:
“I understand what we're trying to accomplish, I know what needs my attention, and I can take ownership of getting it done.”
