Description
Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center was founded on the belief that pets of the Lehigh Valley deserve access to advanced veterinary care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What started as a commitment to emergency medicine has grown into a collaborative specialty hospital where doctors, technicians, assistants, and client care teams work together to support patients with complex medical needs.As we continue to grow, our Emergency Department is expanding. We are looking for an Daytime Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) who thrives in a fast-paced, highly skilled environment and enjoys the challenge of emergency medicine. This position is ideal for a technician who excels under pressure, values teamwork, and is passionate about providing exceptional care to critically ill and injured patients when they need it most.
What You'll Do
- Triage and assess emergency patients upon presentation
- Obtain patient histories and perform nursing assessments
- Place and maintain intravenous catheters
- Collect and process laboratory samples
- Administer medications, fluids, blood products, and treatments as directed
- Monitor hospitalized and critical care patients
- Assist with emergency procedures and stabilization efforts
- Perform anesthesia monitoring and recovery when needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Provide compassionate communication and support to clients during stressful situations
- Collaborate with emergency and specialty teams to deliver exceptional patient care
What We're Looking For
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT)
- Previous emergency and/or specialty experience preferred
- Strong technical nursing skills and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to remain calm and organized in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient advocacy and exceptional client service
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development
Pay Rate: Starting at $26/hour plus shift differential for weekends
