Compensation: $20.00 - $28.00 / hour
Description
Neel Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinary Nurse to join our Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team. This leadership role is ideal for a skilled veterinary professional with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced emergency environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Lead, mentor, and support the ECC veterinary nursing team.
- Deliver high-quality nursing care for emergency and critical patients.
- Place IV catheters, perform blood draws, monitor anesthesia, and administer treatments as directed.
- Recognize common veterinary medications and assist with emergency procedures.
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, team members, and clients.
- Prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous veterinary medicine experience required.
- Prior leadership or managerial experience required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and thrives in a fast-paced ECC setting.
- Experience with IV catheter placement, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and drug recognition preferred.
