Veterinary Nurse – Certificate IV (Full-Time)

Evervet is an independent, family-owned veterinary practice group in inner Melbourne. Our Prahran location is an ASAV-accredited Hospital of Excellence located near Toorak station in Prahran, Melbourne, Victoria. The practice employs seven full-time veterinarians, three part-time veterinarians and twelve support staff, providing comprehensive small animal medical and surgical services.
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the full-time position of Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV qualified).
Position Duties
The Veterinary Nurse will be responsible for:
- Providing nursing care to hospitalised medical and surgical patients
- Surgical nursing, including theatre preparation and anaesthetic monitoring
- Assisting veterinarians during consultations and procedures
- Consulting nursing and client education
- Reception duties and customer service
- Administrative tasks and maintenance of accurate clinical records
- Maintaining hospital cleanliness and infection control standards
Requirements
Essential Selection Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (ACM40418 or equivalent qualification)
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ recent experience in a veterinary clinical setting
- Demonstrated competency in anaesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and busy clinic
- Commitment to high standards of patient care and client service

Employment Details
Full-time position (38 hours per week)
Location: 682 Malvern Rd, Prahran East
Salary range: $35-39/hr
