At UrgentPaws, we're reimagining urgent veterinary care without the chaos of a traditional ER. We are a private-practice with a mission to deliver exceptional veterinary care that provides peace of mind in a moment of urgent need. We've redesigned the traditional experience by developing an open model treatment room with exposure to natural light that is coupled with private exam rooms. Our emphasis on cooperation and communication means you can focus on doing your best clinical work alongside a team that treats every pet as their own. This is the opportunity for you to deliver the kind of medicine you trained for, in an environment built to support you and your patients.
Our compensation package:
- Base salary: $180,000-200,000 depending on experience
- Production: 22% with no negative accruals
- Benefits: Medical, retirement, continuing education, licensure coverage and PTO worth ~$40,000 per year
Key responsibilities for our DVMs:
- Provide high-quality care to pets with urgent medical needs
- Deliver first-rate client experience
- Perform minor surgeries and sedated procedures proficiently (we do anything that can be performed on a wet table - anything more complicated is referred out)
- Maintain accurate medical recordkeeping and documentation
UrgentPaws is open from 3-11p M-F and from 10a-8p on weekends and holidays. Full-time is 30 hours across 3-4 shifts per week (between 8-10 hours per shift)

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
- In good standing with California State Veterinary Board
- Current DEA license
- 2+ years experience as practicing veterinarian preferred in urgent care or emergency medicine
