About You
You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from hands-on patient support, safe restraint, room flow, and outpatient treatments, to support services including laboratory testing, client communication, admitting, and discharging patients.

Your Experience & Skills
- One year of recent experience in a veterinary setting preferred
- Commitment to working within a team environment
- Positive, will-do attitude!
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to multi-task in a busy work setting
- Professional demeanor and outgoing personality
- Willing and able to rotate Saturday shifts as part of the hospital schedule
Thrive Pet Healthcare Wedgewood is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About The Hospital
Thrive Pet Healthcare Wedgewood is a general practice hospital located in Nashville, TN focusing on wellness care, dentistry, surgery, senior pet care, preventive medicine, client education, and quality patient care. Our hospital has a team-focused work environment and a loyal client base. We pride ourselves on clear communication, compassionate care, teamwork, accountability, and strong patient flow.
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:45 AM to 2:00 PM, serving the Wedgewood and greater Nashville community.
You’re Willing And Able To
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
- With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act and hospital protocols
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments
- Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs
- Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members

*Some benefits shown are only for full-time team members who work 30 hours or more per week. Certain benefits may be subject to waiting periods or length of service requirements.
Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $18 - $22/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
