Veterinary Assistant - No Weekends!Powell Veterinary Center on Powell Blvd is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.
We are a busy, collaborative general practice committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and outstanding service to our clients. We're looking for a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their skills while supporting both appointments and procedures.
Enjoy a true work-life balance! Our hospital is open Monday through Friday, which means no weekends, no overnight shifts, and no holiday rotations. If you're passionate about veterinary medicine but value having your evenings and weekends free, we'd love to meet you.

- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Assist with treatments, procedures, diagnostics, and patient care in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns, medications, preventive care, and Thrive Membership options.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
- Obtain patient histories and update medical charts.
- Utilize safe animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and sterile treatment, laboratory, and exam room areas.
- Assist with admitting and discharging patients and providing excellent client communication throughout their visit.
- 1-2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
- Strong communication and client service skills.
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a positive hospital culture.

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with pay starting at $21 per hour. The actual rate offered will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
