Description
Layton Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Part-time, Veterinary Client Service Representative to join our team!* Experience or training in a veterinary hospital, medical industry or pharmacy are preferred. *

- Can lift 40lbs and securely walk dogs of all sizes

- Has a flexible schedule and is willing to pitch in wherever & whenever needed
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicate clearly with clients verbally and in writing. Coordinating communication between doctors, clients, technicians, fellow CSRs and all other support staff
- Working and communicating well in a team environment
- Providing incredible customer service and being very attentive to all client and pet needs
- Answering phone calls, triaging calls and triaging patients to expedite superior patient care
- Educating clients, quoting costs, and explaining basic medical needs for their pets
- Managing flow of appointments from the schedule to the check-in and checkout process
- Billing out clients with accuracy and handling all forms of payment per our current procedures
- Managing medical records, medication refills requests and proper logging of all medical notes
- Assisting in all areas of the hospital to maintain a clean and sterile environment
- Provide superior patient care. Animal care Includes but is not limited to: cleaning cages, litter pans, walking dogs of all sizes, poop scooping, managing pet safety, proper feeding and watering, proper dosing of medications, laundry & dishes, and proper sanitation of kennel environment
- Book keeping, stocking and preparation of office materials, busy work and occasional projects
- Counseling clients on end of life decisions for their beloved pet, scheduling the appointment, checking in the patient for euthanasia, and easing the clients emotional distress afterwards
- Calm and collected emergency management when handling a patient crisis or even the occasional client crisis
- Must demonstrate compassion and empathy with clients and coworkers
Work Schedule:
- Looking for flexibility on any days Monday - Saturday as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Transporting animals in carriers from reception to boarding area
- Lifting and moving 40lbs - patients, bags of pet food, and misc. inventory
- Securely walking dogs of all sizes from Mastiffs to Chihuahuas in rain, snow, or shine as needed
- Restraining patients of all sizes for small procedures like injections, nail trims, or blood draws
- Must be able to move quickly and efficiently in a patient or client emergency
Compensation starting at $15/ hour.
