Veterinary Sterile Processing & Operating Room TechnicianEastern PA Veterinary Medical Center was founded on the belief that pets of the Lehigh Valley deserve access to advanced veterinary care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What started as a commitment to emergency medicine has grown into a collaborative specialty hospital where doctors, technicians, assistants, and client care teams work together to support patients with complex medical needs.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Sterile Processing Technician who takes pride in organization, efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and patient safety. This role is essential to the success of our surgical and procedural teams and plays a direct role in supporting advanced veterinary medicine across the hospital. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, sterilization, organization, and preparation of surgical instruments and packs, while also assisting with the setup, turnover, and cleaning of operating and procedure rooms throughout the day.
What Your Role Will Include
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and equipment
- Assemble and package surgical packs and procedure kits accurately
- Operate and monitor autoclaves and sterilization equipment
- Maintain sterilization logs and quality control documentation
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage
- Set up operating rooms for scheduled cases
- Turn over surgical suites efficiently between procedures
- Clean surgical tables, equipment, and surrounding areas according to hospital protocols
- Stock surgical and procedural areas with necessary supplies
- Communicate with leadership regarding instrument and equipment needs and repairs
What We're Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage changing workflows
- Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to follow infection control and sterilization protocols carefully
- Comfort working around surgical procedures and medical equipment
- Positive attitude and willingness to support hospital operations wherever needed
- Previous experience in sterile processing, veterinary medicine, surgical support, or healthcare is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Pay Rate: Starting at $18 - $20.00/hr
