Maine Veterinary Medical Center is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to our Internal Medicine team. The schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday. Candidates should be available to consistently work this schedule to meet the needs of the department.

Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice that has full in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a GE 64-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound and endoscopy. MVMC is a multi-specialty hospital offering services in Emergency & Critical Care, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine. Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough, ME

$32.00-$40.00 per hour based on experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Support veterinarians with advanced diagnostics including ultrasound, endoscopy, CT and other specialized procedures
• Perform and assist with sample collection, laboratory testing, and anesthetic monitoring
• Place IV catheters, administer medications, and provide advanced nursing care
• Manage and monitor hospitalized patients with complex medical conditions
• Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans under veterinarian direction
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records and treatment sheets
• Educate and communicate with clients regarding patient care, medications, and follow-up
• Work collaboratively to ensure a high standard of care for internal medicine cases

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum three year previous experience in a veterinary or animal handling role required
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude
• Able to multi-task
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Credentialed candidates (LVT, CVT, or RVT) are strongly desired for this role
